This thesis focuses on Wang Zengqi's novels and from the perspective of folk custom it aims at digging up the glamour of folklore in his novels and making a just and fair evaluation for his creative writing and influence. As the historical culture and the cultural history, folk custom shows its unique lingering charm and connotation in the docking between time and space.Firstly, the thesis expatiates folk custom, illustrates the content of the artistic folklore and analyzes the folk affairs and images in Wang Zengqi's novels. Secondly, it explores the influence of folk literature on Wang Zengqi from the writer's consciousness of beings. In his process of literary creation, he put forward a whole set of distinctive literary theories, such as "environment creates characters" and "the prose style writing of novels", which breaks free of the traditional novels to some extent.
