| With the success of Chinese revolution, especially after the Korean War, the Sino-American relations entered into the state of enmity in every aspect of society. In order to keep the safe of U.S., American change the direction of foreign aid. So the foreign assistance to Asia began to play the most important role in constructing the fortification around China. The U.S. supply the technology assistance, defence support, military assistance, developmental assistance and other loan to the countries of east Asia and kept the embargo to PRC.This dissertation consists of six parts including the preface and conclusion.Part one review the history of assistance after World War II,including the technology assistance and so on.Part two explain the new policies such as "the Great Equation"and the containment strategies of Eisenhower, and the effect on Aisa assistance.Part three introduce the contents of NSC5506 0 This part also explored how the documents put into effect and revealed the evolution of the Asia policy of United States in the coming days of Eisenhower Administration.The reasons of change was analysed in part four.The epilogue explained the influence of the assistance policy toward Asia of Eisenhower Administration. |
