Feuerbach's Dialectic Thought

On whether Feuerbach's philosophy contains dialectics thoughts, or whether Feuerbach's philosophy is a certain dialectics philosophy, which has been a controversial issue for a long time in the sphere of leaning. There mainly exists two kinds of viewpoints, that is, one completely denies or ignores Feuerbach' s dialectics thoughts; another thinks that his dialectics approaches Marxist material dialectics. This thesis analyses the expression, the merits and the defects of Feuerbach' s dialectics thoughts, and then tries to answer the following questions: which is right or wrong among the above two kinds of viewpoints? How to appraise Feuerbach's dialectics thoughts?Firstly, the thesis reveals the plentiful dialectics thoughts in Feuerbach' s philosophy. For example, he affirms universal connection between things, and the movement and development of things; he notices the thoughts of the struggle in opposite, and so on. Thus it can seen that Feuerbach's dialectics thoughts should not be overlooked. So, the first kind of viewpoint above mentioned isn't tenable.Secondly, this thesis analyzes the merits of Feuerbach's dialectics thoughts. Because of containing plentiful dialectics thoughts, Feuerbach's philosophy is superior to the matephysics of seventeen to eighteen century, even somewhere outweights Hegel's dialectics. He criticizes Hegel' s idealist dialectics, and then he tries to lay the materalistic foun-dation . And still Feuerbach' s dialectics thoughts play a certain role in Marx's establishing materialist (practical) dialectics. Since there exist so plentiful dialectics thoughts in Feuerbach' s philosophy, and so many merits in his dialectics thoughts, it is impossible to evade his dialectics thoughts in the history of dialectics. Finally, the thesis analyses the defects of Feuerbach's dialectics thoughts. , that is, uncomplete, neglecting subjective initiative, lacking the correct understanding of practice, etc. It is because of these defects that we should not speak highly of Feuerbach' s dialectics thoughts. This shows that the second kind of viewpoint above is obviously wrong.If we want to evaluate Feuerbach's dialectics thoughts objectively and impartially, we have to set a standard of evaluation. This thesis holds that whether a certain philosophy is dialectics or not depends on whether it grasps the core of dialectics, namely the concept of inner contradictions, and also depends on whether admits that the inner contradic-tionsis the motive force of the movement and development of things. According to this standard, Feuerbach's philosophy doesn't belong to dialectics philosophy, but only contains abundant dialectics thoughts.
