On Inac's Activities In Chongqing

The Chinese Literature and Arts Association (CLAA), an organization with distinct epochal features, was founded after the full-scale Anti-Japan War broke out. Primarily it was established in Wuhan, and several months later, it was transferred to Chongqing owing to worse Aanti-Japan War situation. Since then, it took Chongqing as the center of its activities, led and organized the literature and art workers thoughtout the country, organized and put forward the literature and art movement lasting for eight years, which produced an irreplaceable effect on the cultural development of Chongqing.The birth of CLAA is not only the realistic need of national independence, but also the demands of the development of literature and arts. Specific history backgrounds endowed the CLAA with the historical mission of leading the Anti-Japan movement in literature and art circles, and its own integrity organization provided a basement for its activities . Therefore , the first chapter of this paper all-sidedly observed its special history backgrounds, the concrete process of its preparation and foundation, and the significance of its establishment, by witch to unveiled the historical necessity of its foundation and the possibility of its leading and organizing the Anti-Japan-war literature and arts movement with an profound effect on the cultural development of Chongqing.It is in a series of activities that the CLAA gradually produced an speacial effect on Chongqing's cultural development. So the second chapter of this paper observed the concrete process of these activities, payed more attention to its organization constract, editing and publishing , coveying grettings in front, theory study, international propaganda and the struggle against autocracy and the persuit for democracy, seting a historical basement for a further study on the association's main features in Chongqing and its concrete effect on Chongqing's cuture.The CLAA's activities in Chongqing demonstrated distinct features. So the third chapter respectively expounded the following four main features: wide solidarity and cooperation, distinct politic purposes, persistence in its struggle, wartime existence of its oganization life, which is in favour of an all-round knowledge of the united-front quality of the orgnization and its special contribution in the cultural development history of Chongqing.Finally, upon an all-sidedly observation of the whole history of the association , including its preparation, foundation, development as well as its termination, the last chapter analysed the concrete influence on the cultural deveplopment of Chongqing during its eight years' Anti-Japan Literature and Arts movement, in order to provide a historical refence to the cultural construction of new Chongqing.
