Mou Zong San is one of the most important philosophers in the modern Chinese philosophic history."The Intuition of Understanding", namely the understanding in the intuitive form, refers to a kind of form in contrast with the perceptive intuition and understanding. Mou Zong San gets his concept from Immanuel Kant's philosophy, and made it to be the core of his philosophical theory.Mou Zong San believes that the traditional Chinese philosophy doesn't have the concept of "the Intuition of Understanding", but has this thought. "The Intuition of Understanding" is reflected in the philosophies of "Confucianism", "Buddhism" and "Daoism".Mou Zong San holds that Kant's philosophy is a good communicative bridge between Chinese philosophy and western philosophy. I think that the further research of "the Intuition of Understanding'" will help to combine the Chinese philosophy with the western philosophy. The combination will make the contents more extensive."The Intuition of Understanding" is the inherent basis of Mou Zong San's "Moral Metaphysics". He thinks that if the factuality of "the Intuition of Understanding" cannot be proved, the true morality will not exist, even less to say constructing the "Moral Metaphysics".Mou Zong San's philosophy is a response to nihilism about nation and nihilism about value existing in the modern society. His thoughts are significant in reconstructing the self-respect of Chinese people and in looking for spiritual home. However, his thoughts also have limitation in some aspects. |
