The Scholar's Poetry─on Yao Nai Poetics

Yao Nai is not only a well-known essayist, also is a influential poet, His poetry has a very important influence on the formation and development of the Tongchen Genre, However, scholars have little research of his poetry and poetic theory.And always Limited the scope of study on the poetry, neglected his identity of essayist and Confucianism,But this identity is an important factor to make Yao Nai poetry with "unique" style and far-reaching. This paper attempts to have a comprehensive study on Yao Nai's of poetry as " Scholar's Poetry " Perspective.The paper is divided into five chapters: The first chapter analysisd the"Scholar's Poetry"'s meaning firstly, elaborated the Construction of Yao Nai's"Scholar's Poetry"."Scholar's Poetry " first appeared in the Song Dynasty, through scholars'debated and criticized in the different dynasties, to the Qing Dynasty,its meaning become very complx,different from"Confucian's Poetry"and"Pedant's Poetry".Yao Nai was living with the scholar's identity,he breaked the limits of poetry and prose, thought that poetry similar to prose,advocated using learning to write poetry,constructed the typical"Scholar's Poetry"; The second Chapter discussioned the Yao Nai's"Scholar's Poetry"features poetic theory.Standing on the position of Scholar,Yao Nai advocated fusion of poetry and prose,emphasized the poet's knowledge and moral cultivation, thought poetry and prose which has the same aesthetic rules. The third chapter focuses on the ideological content of Yao Nai nature poetry.Reading and writing is the major life activities of Yao Nai,his poetry not only is the record of his Scholar's living,but also is his expression of Scholar's emotion and aspiration; The fourth Chapter analyzes the characteristics of Yao Nai's poetry, Yao Nai's poetry is rich in intellectuals image ,and always used the tricks and argument which in prose to writing poetry,even with lenring.under his prose influence,his poetry has masculine. The fifth Chapter discussed the influence of Yao Nai poetry, as an example of Fang Dongshu's poetry and poetic theory.
