The bad-intentioned medium criticism during the Cultural Revolution is the significant part of the Cultural Revolution. Its beginning, development and ending constitute an integrated history of the bad-intentioned medium criticism during the Cultural Revolution. In the previous study of the Cultural Revolution, People paid more attention to the political angle, but paid no attention to the medium criticism.This paper tries to begin with the medium criticism before the Cultural Revolution, to probe into the course of the bad-intentioned medium criticism launched by Lin Biao and the Gang of Four, so that people can understand their criticism about medium is fascist's autocracy to the press. The paper resolves two problems: (a) Understanding the bad-intentioned medium criticism's beginning, development and its harmfulness. (b) Discussing its. characteristics, reasons and counterrneasures.At the beginning of the paper, some medium criticisms fulfilled by some Marxists, such as Lu Dingyi, Deng Tuo, Tao Zhu and so on, are introduced before the Culture Revolution. There are two reasons to introduce their well-intentioned media criticism in the paper. Firstly, their media criticisms can contrast the bad-intentioned medium criticism launched by Lin Biao and the Gang of Four. Secondly their media criticisms are of much help us to look for the trace of the bad-intentioned medium criticism before the Cultural Revolution.Subsequently, the course of the bad-intentioned medium criticism and mass revolts, is elaborately introduced by two chapters of the paper. These parts illustrate the cruel fight between the bad-intentioned medium criticism and mass revolts by much historical materials.Finally, the paper summarizes the bad-intentioned medium criticism during the Cultural Revolution. First of all, this part clarifies what the bad-intentioned medium criticism is, and summarizes Nothing of Four characteristics of it, that is concocting, not demonstrating, Limitless boosting, limitless slandering. Afterwards, it dwells on some bad effects and actual losses brought by the bad-intentioned medium criticism at the press. In the end, the paper probes into reasons and countermeasures. In case some former chapters are the skeleton of the paper, this chapter is its flesh and blood. The purpose to study the bad-intentioned medium criticism and mass revolts is that these studies can help us understand characteristics of the bad-intentioned medium criticism, realize its reasons and harrnfulness, and to put up countermeasures to thoroughly prevent the bad-intentioned medium criticism during the new period.
