Research On Well-intentioned Interpretation Of Literary Text

Text interpretation is an important part of literature practice, and different text viewsentail different reading strategies, which lead to the presentation of various textual meanings.Cultural poetics advocates interpreting a text in the complex cultural relations, so that the textcan be interpreted in a more deeply and comprehensive way. In order to achieve a morereasonable communication among different cultures, identities and classes, cultural poeticsproposes interpreting the text from the perspective of goodwill firstly among varieties ofpossibilities of text interpretation. The well-intentioned interpretation bases on the selectionof humanity, and literary creation and interpretation should be conducive to the constructionof humanity. Well-intentioned understanding of human nature, that is, understanding thehuman nature from the perspective of goodwill, is actually to guide, construct and improvethe human nature actively, which tends to perfect human nature. The cultural poetics believesthat literary texts and real life are in the relationship of mutual construction, sowell-intentioned interpretation of human nature and the literature text should be in the sameprocess.Firstly, well-intentioned interpretation is to interpret a text with good will, choosing thewell-intentioned interpretation from the various possibilities of interpretations. Secondly, itmeans to respect a text in the specific historical and cultural context and to interpret theoriginal meaning of the text. Thirdly, well-intentioned interpretation is to focus on the poeticyearning in the text, that is, to explore the hopeful future of mankind which is also pursued inthe literary text. Therefore, we should not only take the well-intentioned reading attitude, butalso discuss the specific methods practically.Because of different aspects involved in the well-intentioned interpretation and thelimitations of my personal ability, this paper only focuses on one aspect. At the same time,among different genres of literature, the prose is the most popular literary genre at present,and the realism of the prose makes the mutual construction between the literary text and the real life typical. Therefore, this paper which takes the well-intentioned interpretation of prosetexts as the starting point, mainly focuses on two issues:(1)We mainly take Sanmao’s prosesas examples to explain the strategies and methods of well-intentioned interpretation when thenarrative of prose text is inconsistent with the fact.(2)Prose narrative is the poetic explorationof life. All kinds of prose authors are often to explore the possibilities of their living bywriting, and the process of writing is the process of constructing the poetic life too. The mosttypical example of that is Shi Tiesheng, who created the precious spiritual wealth of humanbeings and achieved his noble, poetic life.Meanings of literary text are constructed during the communication between the readerand the text, so it can be reasonably required that the reader should interpret the text from theperspective of good-will. Literary text and real life are mutual-constructed, sowell-intentioned interpretation of literary text is actually trying to make the most use of thepoetic guidance of literary text, to build an ideal cultural personality actively, and so as toenhance the state of life.
