Shi Zhecun's psychological novels mainly cover two subjects, one specially describes the ancients' sexual psychology, while the other depicts the modern's sexual psychology. On the basis of the theories of Carl gustavjung, Cassirer,E and Sigmund Fuerd, this paper will analyze all sorts of manifestations of sexual instinct in Shi Zhecun's novels by close reading the texts. In the ancients theme novels, ShiZhecun tries to restore the deified heroes to human beings. While in the modern theme novels, he delineates sexual instinct mostly from the following three aspects: transplanted feelings, hysteria and dream which developed from long inhibition of sexual instinct. While depicting the sexual instinct thoroughly, Shi Zhecun also exhibits the death instinct of human being. As to the figures in his novels, their death instinct and sexual instinct are always interlocked. So the paper is accordingly to analyze the relationships between these two instincts. Besides, ShiZhecun designs a kind of peculiar surroundings for the heroine's sexual desire, mainly concluding moonlight and gloomy scenery, which will also be studied in the paper. At last, the paper will analyze the reasons of ShiZhecun's psychological novels' appearance, which cannot be separated from Chinese and Western culture and his own consciousness.
