Character And Structure: Chi Zijian's Impressionistic Narrative

Based on the theory of the modern poeticized novel art form, the thesis mainly utilize the careful text reading method and make a try from the narrative mode of Chizijian's novels to find out the aesthetic feature of Xieyi. The thesis consists of two parts. The first part is to analyze Chizijian's unique style of character depicting. For the character depicting, Chizijian extensively employs poetic rhetoric such as metaphor, blank and stylistic type to make characters into aesthetic symbol instead of to make the depicting character as the main task of the novel, so the characters have the excellent flavor of aesthetic effect. The second part is to analyze the construction of novels. When constructing novels, the integrity of story and the preciseness of the structure are not very demanding. The writer employs the narrative strategy such as recalling and children's view point, etc to write novels in essayistic form. The character moods are becoming the clues to connect the living scene in novels, and finally the sentimental quality is evolving into the central point and the quality of beauty and freedom throughout novels. These narrative methods make the Chizijian's novels to have aesthetic feature of Xieyi.
