Man and Woman Being in the Same School, as an important aspect of traditional education reform in the period of May 4th Movement. The traditional education had apparent expression of regarding man as superior to woman, so, the moment of Man and Woman Being in the Same School in the period of May 4th, also became an important component of women emancipation movement.In modern China, as the spread of western advanced ideology, people' s ethics concept began to change, bringing about equality in sexes became the basic target of reforming social custom. The spread of the new cultural moment of May 4th made people' s thought opened more. In education domain, there was a public discussion of reforming traditional education and practicing education equality in sexes, which opened the prologue of the moment of Wan and Woman Being in the Same School.The advocates and objectors stood their political standpoints to speak their minds respectively, which led to a debate in ideology domain, focusing on "sex ethics" and spreading to other aspects. At the same time, the advocates of Wan and Woman Being in the Same School also made plan and preparation about the relative problems which probably appeared in the period of carrying out Wan and Woman Being in the Same School and after that, which pushed the discussion of Wan and Woman Being in the Same School into a climax.As the education system of Wan and Woman Being in the Same School struck root in the heart of the people increasingly, more and more people became to responded this movement. In the spring of 1920,opening to woman in peiking university made the movement of Wan and Woman Being in the Same School of May 4th no long limit to opinion layer, but go a step further to practical stage.In the period, feudal apologists applauded to Co-education of the sexes in primary school, but out of politics, they objected to carrying out Co-education of the sexes in secondary schools and universities. However, with the reformation of many old social customs and the attempt of new education system, not only in the university, but in the secondary school, more and more schools began to carrying out Wan and Woman Being in the Same School. In 1922, the issue of new sexless single-track school system came to an important sign of education system of Wan and Woman Being in the Same School legalizing. After that, the moment of Wan and Woman Being in the Same School went on development in the unceasing reformation and exploration.Making further study of this problem, not only has much academic meaning, but also provides profitable historic enlightenment to observe and think of the present related phenomena.
