By studying the rule and form of classic Tang poem with cultural theories, this paper is attempting to show that it not only has close relation with ancient Chinese aesthetic culture, but also contains spirit of Confucian rite and music culture in its aesthetic forms. Because of its close relations with Confucian culture for rite and music, which has the nature of politics and utilitarianism, the rule and form of classic Tang poem gets some political potential as an art form. So it connects closely and synthetically with feudal political culture. Although it does not always follow the step of feudal political culture, it has always been parallel and unanimous with feudal political culture in the main, which indicates that the rule and form of classic Tang poem, not a pure form created only for art, has close relation with Chinese traditional culture, and has been greatly influenced by Chinese ancient and unique culture of aesthetics, Confucian rite and music, and feudal politics on its birth and development. That is to say, it is the rule and form of classic Tang poem that brings our nation's unique aesthetical interest, ethical and moral conception, political ideal, even the conception of universe into its exquisite form skillfully, which makes itself an meaningful form containing our national profound culture and unique conception.
