Exploration Of Children's Creativity And Their Communities Training Program

Creativity is an ability' to produce novel and appropriate products, playing an important role in social and personal growth. Educating and nurturing the "whole child", including children's creativity, has been the long-standing goal of most childhood education. On the other hand, the environments in which children work, play and live can encourage or discourage the expression of creativity. Communities are part of it. As such, promoting children's creativity is frequently the focus of communities.The study first gives a general introduction of the topics of creativity as well as children's creativity, which cover the definition of creativity and children's creativity, the feature of creativity's components and development, the relationship of creativity and environmental factors, and so on. Moreover, the study emphasizes several major issues about nurturing creativity: "Can creativity be enhanced?"; "What exactly can be enhanced?"; "How can the effective programs be designed to enhance creativity?" Finally, referring to the creativity training programs which have been popularized in schools and families, the study intends to develop a ideal program to foster children's creativity based on community. Accordingly, the scores about intelligence, personality, creativity and parent-child relationship, responded from 120 examinees are obtained. Half of examinees, belonging to experimental group, take part in half-year-training in community. The main results in this study are the followings.1) Creativity is a combination of cognitive factors, affective factors and environmental factors.2) Creativity training programs can really help children maximize their creative potential.3) Depending on community's peculiarity and superiority, involving community resources, especially human resources, creativity nurturing model based on community can be developed and perfected.
