There is a type of tacit knowledge well known as implicit knowledge, which can be unconsciously acquired, and work in people's following performance. The process of the acquisition is implicit learning. For its ubiquitous application in social cognition, school education, human and computer interaction, ball games etc., implicit learning has made increasing number of researchers be a member of cognitive psychologists. At the first part of this thesis, an introduction about the history and today's development of the research of implicit learning is given by the discussion of paradigm of Reber's Artificial grammars learning , relationship between implicit learning and explicit learning and the nature of implicit learning.Unlike the research of implicit learning under the classical paradigm of Reber's Artificial grammars learning in which deferent length of strings of characters are used as learning material, more attention is drew to the conditions which influence subjects' acquisition of the implicit artificial grammars when the learning material changed as strings of figures or color-filled circles by a series of experiments carried in this research. There are three independent variables in this research. One is the learning material which takes regular figures, irregular figures and color-filled circles as its three levels. The other is learning-times (16 times and 32times) in first stage of the experiment. The third independent variable is difficulty of the artificial grammar, one is easy and the other is hard. Experiment is designed to explore the factors which influence the acquisition of artificial grammars when the learning material is not literal. The result shows that:(1)Only under certain conditions can acquisition of artificial grammars occurswhen the learning material is not character(2) Artificial grammars can hardly be acquired implicitly when they hide inrelatively unfamiliar material such as irregular figures; if showed with familiar materials like regular figures or color-filled circles, artificial grammar tends to be acquired.(3) Artificial grammar showed with color-filled circles can be more easily acquired than the same grammar shown with regular figures, though they're both familiar materials to subjects(4) Learning more times in the first stage of experiment helps to get better performance.(5)Only easier artificial grammar can be acquired; there is little possibility to acquire harder artificial grammar even when it is showed with relatively familiar materials such as regular figures or color-filled circles...
