This study adopted a 2×3 design, using 210 University students as the subjects. It investigated the influence on the students achievements to recall the main information and solving the problems achievements by studying a scientific text which were inserted seductive cartoons or cognitive cartoons, and explored the reason.. The first factor is the nature of inserting cartoons, included two levels, seductive cartoons and cognitive cartoons. The second factor is the location, included three levels, before the text, interspersed within the text, after the text, the subjects were divided into six groups and another contrast group .The results showed that,1. Insert seductive cartoons drop the achievements of retention and transfer, but cognitive cartoons promote the achievements. The achievements of contrast students were higher than the students of seductive cartoons, but lower than the cognitive groups.2. Seductive cartoons in the different location have significant influence on achievements. When they were put behind the text, the achivement of students got higher than before the text significantly.3. Cognitive cartoons in the different location have significant influence on achievements. When they were put behind the text, the achivement of students got higher than before the text significantly.
