Verbal Communication In Language Analysis, Fuzzy Strategy

Discourse strategies are important means by which people can realize communicative goal or predominate in verbal communication. Pragmatic ambivalence is one of the discourse strategies often employed in verbal communication. It is beneficial for the communication participants to understand the nature of pragmatic ambivalence strategies and employ them properly. Thus, we consider practically meaningful an in-dept exploration of discourse strategies. This paper is dedicated to the application of pragmatic ambivalence strategies in verbal communication. This paper is composed of five parts:The first part, the preface, briefly reviews previous and contemporary researches on pragmatic ambivalent phenomena, and introduces studies on pragmatic ambivalence in Russian pragmatics.The second part focuses on the theoretical frame of pragmatic ambivalence, introducing pragmatic ambivalence theory in pragmatics. This parts encompasses four aspects: 1) theoretical foundation and concept demarcation of pragmatic ambivalence; 2) functions of pragmatic ambivalence; 3)analytic factors of pragmatic ambivalence; 4) discourse strategies binding pragmatic ambivalence.The third part deals with the employment of pragmatic discourse strategies in verbal communication. In this part, the author, referring to Russian corpus, analyzed its practical application as a form of discourse strategies in verbal communication. This part is illustrated from the following two aspects: 1) the analysis of pragmatic ambivalence strategy in verbal communication; 2) the analysis of discourse strategies binding pragmatic ambivalence in verbal communication. The fourth part is the meaning of pragmatic ambivalence strategy in verbal communication.The fifth part is the conclusion, discussing the research value and future prospect of the current topic. The basic theories concerning pragmatic ambivalence, in this paper, are borrowed from English linguistics. With the analysis built on Russian corpus, the author attempts to prove that this theory is feasible in Russian pragmatics studies as well.
