During the anti-Japanese war, Chinese high schools suffered great damages under the ravage of Japanese invaded aggressor. To preserve precious educational resource, most high schools migrated to the backward mid-west areas, and parts of them migrated to Shaanxi province, which deeply influenced the high education of Shaanxi.The high education of Shaanxi lagged behind others before the anti-Japanese war, there was only one high school, Northwest Agriculture and Forest College. After the outbreak of the war, guided by the educational policy of Nanjing national government, the migration emerged 3 tides and formed 4 centers, ShanGan district was the 4th center, thus the high education of Shaanxi boomed unprecedentedly. The reasons were the profound history of Shaanxi; its situation in the aggression war; the support of Shaanxi government; the efforts of those teachers and students and the attention and encouragement of the Nanjing national government policy. Then the features appeared sudden boom, typical war education feature and unbalanced development. The migration took important impact on the social and economy of Shaanxi, it brought energy, laid the groundwork to Shaanxi modernization and had great effects on Shaanxi culture.This thesis is aimed to study how the high schools migration of that time influenced Shaanxi, which drew on the experience of today' s west development.
