New Odes from the Jade Terrace is an archaic poetry anthology written by XuLing who was born in the Southern Dynasty, many outstanding works came down such as archaic poetry for Jiaozhongqing's wife ,which is very important in Chinese literature history. Ethos of New Odes from the Jade Terrace research has not formed at academe. The number of single paper or monograph was very small. Writing time, the motive of writing, the standard of writing and the appraise of New Odes from the Jade Terrace were four research hotspots before, it is very weak from the point of view of literature. So New Odes from the Jade Terrace was deeply researched from the point of view of literature in this paper. Besides introduction, this paper was divided into two parts.In the first part, the research situation of New Odes from the Jade Terrace was summarized, the research of New Odes from the Jade Terrace went through a very long time, and it developed farther in the new century because many theories and methods were introduced into it, especially embodied at aspects such as the writing" time of New Odes from the Jade Terrace, the relationship between New Odes from the Jade Terrace and The Literary Selection, the compiling problem of New Odes from the Jade Terrace, the relationship between New Odes from the Jade Terrace and music etc. But some problems still existed such as comparative research among New Odes from the Jade Terrace, The Literary Mind and Shipin, the status of New Odes from the Jade Terrace at Chinese poesy history and the relationship between New Odes from the Jade Terrace and the Palace Style Poetry etc. The research of articles in New Odes from the Jade Terrace was feeblest, urgently called for intensify.In the second part, articles in New Odes from the Jade Terrace was reclassified and researched, articles in New Odes from the Jade Terrace could be divided into four types: social life, family life, love life and personal life, articles were analyzed concretely, basic visage of New Odes from the Jade Terrace was opened out, the viewpoint that New Odes from the Jade Terrace is the Palace Style Poetry was defecated. Personal life part was involved with personal feeling, all most of criticism was centralized in this part. Thus it can be seen that there was no value of individual existence in past, no other individual introject into community than individual could be approbated. From The Book of Songs and Chuci to present, the value of dramatis personae in literature were always raising the family and running the country and pacifying the whole society, in their mental view, self value was equal to country stability and people peace.So, at the time of the Palace Style Poetry come into being, widely prevail and flood, personal feeling could be brought to platform to glorify. This is a very large subversion to the traditional theory ofShi_yanzhi, though these were unconscious, and largely due to desire overindulge and corruption. The subject matter of poesy was infirmed and the form of poesy was engraved morbidly, even more, ideology was impacted. Realizing these is very helpful to research and reappraise New Odes from the Jade Terrace.
