The dissertation analyses the tone's acoustic characteristics for monosyllabic and disyllabic, vocables from the experimental phonetics angle, and emphatically inspects the pitch's fundamental frequency value's variations According to the tone-letter method. This dissertation observes the fundamental frequency value's variation in the tone-letter. The analysis of tone's acoustic characteristics shoos that the tone's actual articulation is not the same as the standard one. The observation of disyllable's pitch suggests the synergistic effect is cooperative in tone's articulatory process. The ordinary analysis for disyllable's tone has paid much attention to the influence the back tone makes on the front one, while little attention has paid to the influence the front tone makes on the back one. This dissertation comprehensively analyses the tone's variation from the both sides. The analysis for the tone's acoustic characteristics helps us gain the tone's accurate variations which can be used as a referendal standard for Putonghua's estimation and teaching. This dissertation also observes and studies the tone's articulatory situations in putonghua's different levels, analyses the deviations, and initially discusses the principle and method for tone teaching.
