| There are three sections in my dissertation. The aim is to deeply dissect the vivid world of Su Manshu's inside that is blow hot and cold between dispiritment and struggle embarrassedly.Part One:mainly discuss Su Manshu's life experience, art style and behavior manner.In order to exactly dissect the origin of his complex nature, disclose the mysterious veil around him, In this chapter I try to view and feel over Su Manshu's life trip that full of frustrations, bright and splendent article life, cranky and uncanny behavior in a macroscopical and holistic viewing angle. He was abandoned by destiny, and the tragic left wound remembering with gratitude constantly and forever in his heart. What's more, the Yarnato bloodline celebrated as matter sorrowing far strengthened his self-closed and distressed temperament and increased the sadness about life. But the great bearing, solemn and dainty traditional culture and exoticism, widely known personality and romantic spirit brought fire-new meaning to his writing, however, he didn't find his belief which could be exert all himself on without boredom all the while, when the warm hankering couldn't achieve, bad feeling of frustration would annihilate all the ardor, and provoke him to walk poles apart. Thus his short life was full of variation and contradiction, sometimes forgetting emotion and hate, sometimes pleading for the people without compunction even to die, and sometimes drinking and singing forgetting himself. From beginning to end, he was a man that lost his spirit homestead and looked for it all his life but not found.The second part presented Su Manshu's writing and behavior characters and explained his parabola-like struggle transit from peak to valley in the struggling visual angle.Su Manshu homed on sea all the life, stood all alone, body and shadow comforted each other, no filial piety to parents, no loving care for brothers, no grief of parting with wife and no longing for children, worriless life made his struggle more decided and entirely than usual men, as a result, he jumped onto the time's billow on one occasion and became a surfboarder irrespective of stepping on blade. But the glistening white one is easy to be polluted, his struggle ended in nothing for the shackle between time and personality, just like the flickering flame of oil lamp, shining everywhere at beginning but more and more cloudily. He controlled his desire on looking after the pure interior freedom while he felt hardly to take a step in the stagnant world. But he couldn't become a worriless one, peripatetic appearance and depressed spirit permeating together, formed his common state. His fatal failing was to build the revolution full of death and blood by the fancy and romantic of a poet. This made his struggle not only no use but also more agonizing. He could break out at any moment, but also fade outjust like an active volcano. In exceeding contradiction and suffering, he ended his life trip. But his experience refracted the worried soul course of hard advance and retreat of the neoteric intellectuals in the powerful current of against imperialism and feudalism, left never-failing thinking and sighing about era and life.Part three: mainly discuss his writing and behavior characters from dispiritment, present his vital force and vigor that hid in the seemingly cynical exterior behavior.First of all, sentiment was the chronic illness in his spirit world. However, the miserable feeling showed his nobleness, and presented his holding fast to self-will and his implacability to surpass difficulty. Because of the juvenility of society and history and the limitation of himself, his struggle could show obfuscation and void of roadlessness, and even sentiment of giving feeling up.
