According to customary writing norms, applying the knowledge of literature theories and by consulting and summarizing related research subjects, the paper delves into the influence of Mongolian culture in the period when Yuan dynasty non-dramatic songs thrived under the backdrop of exchange between Mongolian culture and Han national culture. The paper consists of four parts: introduction, the influence of Mongolian culture that encouraged a thriving production of Yuan dynasty non-dramatic songs, a catalogue of Mongolian writers of non-dramatic songs and the conclusion. In the introduction, the author highlights achievements in research of Yuan dynasty non-dramatic songs detailing the cultural influence of the ethnic minorities on Yuan dynasty non-dramatic songs. The author also includes her original conceptions about the subject. Drama research emerged in an unprecedented thriving period during the twenties and the thirties of the twentieth century. Soon afterwards, non-dramatic songs research became an independent subject separate from general drama research. In the last century, Yuan dynasty non-dramatic songs research has achieved great success both in a macrocosmand from the microcosm. But, there are very few achievements focusing on the point of view of the cultural influence of ethnic minorities on Yuan dynasty non-dramatic songs till now .As is known to all, non-dramatic songs thrived during the Yuan dynasty. So, research shouldn't ignore the influence of cultures peculiar to Yuan dynasty as a cause for thriving creativity in Yuan non-dramatic songs, though we can't absolutely attribute it to a single source of influence. In this paper, the author is not focusing on the point of view of Han national culture in research of Yuan dynasty non-dramatic songs. The author chooses to highlight "the exchange of Mongolian culture and Han national culture in the thriving culture of Yuan dynasty non-dramatic songs", and discusses profound impacts of Mongolian culture on Yuan dynasty non-dramatic songs. In chapter one, the author delves into the influence of Mongolian cultural characteristics as a cause for thriving creativity in Yuan dynasty non-dramatic songs because of basic and accelerated exchanges between Mongolian culture and Han national culture. Chapter one consists of two parts. Part one introduces the historical reasons for the emergence of unprecedented exchange of Mongolian culture and Han national culture The historical reasons include the origins of Mongolianculture, the changes in Mongolian position in history, and the exchange between Mongolian people and Han national people in their daily life; in total three aspects are presented. The second part of chapter one discusses the influence of Mongolian culture that encouraged a thriving production of Yuan dynasty non-dramatic songs. Through analyzing the influence of Mongolian music culture, Mongolian ethnic spirit and nature, Mongolian language and Mongolian narrative poems on Yuan dynasty non-dramatic songs, the author identifies the influence of nomadic culture of the northern ethnic minorities such as that of the Mongolian culture on the rise of Yuan dynasty non-dramatic songs.Chapter two introduces six Mongolian writers of non-dramatic songs describing their lives and the content of their important works. Their works generally depicted landscapes, love, separation, nostalgia for a past age, apolitical peasant lifestyles and values The subjects were not evidently much different from the subject matter of other traditional poems creations. But, Mongolian writers integrated an unique style of Mongolian culture into the traditional subject, thereby the works of non-dramatic songs created under Mongol influence were distinctive in the tradition of non-dramatic songs creation. It enriched andexpanded the Chinese literature with the influences of northern plains lifestyles. In conclusion, the author summarizes the whole content and identifies missing elements within the realm of the subject discussed within the paper.
