This paper takes the West Liaoning Corridor as the individual case for study. Concerning the policy about horses in Qing dynasty with the folk culture in this area, it tries to analysis how history make influence on the culture in this area by tracing back to the passing days.Chapter One mainly introduces the general picture of the West Liaoning Corridor. It gives the brief introduction of geographical position and ecology environment of the West Liaoning Corridor and its important role in Qing dynasty.Chapter Two discusses the influence of the policy about horses in Qing dynasty on the West Liaoning Corridor's material productive folk customs through agriculture and livestock farming. In Qing dynasty, some loyal families set their homes here and established Daling river horse farm in this area, so that many Han immigrants who once lived in south great wall poured into this region and made the population increase rapidly. Accordingly, some villages gradually appeared and developed. As for livestock farming, they learned the advanced fanning and managerial experience from the state horse farm, shaped their unique productive customs of stock raising and passed them on from the old days till today.Chapter Three discusses the influence of the policy about horses in Qing dynasty on the West Liaoning Corridor's transportation customs andcommercial customs. It points out that the openning of post road greatly promoted both the whole transportation and economic prosperity and strengthened exchanges and integration in different nationalities.On the angle of historical vicissitudes of horse god temple, Chapter four mainly probes into the influence of the policy about horses in Qing dynasty on people's belief in the West Liaoning Corridor.The last part is the conclusion. This part makes a summary about the relations between the policy about horses in Qing dynasty and folk customs of the West Liaoning Corridor on the angle of history and geographical position.In a word, the significance of choosing this topic is listed as follows: first, on the angle of cultural history, this paper provides the valuable material for study of the West Liaoning Corridor. Second, it deals with the life history of ordinary people, so for the application of folklore, this topic has the realistic significance. The problems such as the agriculture and stock farming in West Liaoning, commerce and re-thriving of temple fair in new times, discussed in this paper will serve today.
