Liao is one of dynasties which are believed in Buddhism. In order to apply to psychicdemand of people, Buddhism has combined with Shamanism, Taoism and Confucianism.Liaoning district is one of the crucial districts of Liao dynasty government; the developmentof Buddhism is very prosperous. The significant symbol is that Buddhist temple and stupaextensive spreading, a large number of Buddhists and Buddhist matters, famous Buddhistsusually gave lectures about the Buddhist Scriptures in public.The Buddhist temple and stupa is not only spreading Buddhism, but also the tools ofcomforting people’s feeling, regulating social contradiction and consolidating political rules.The messages of them are combining with Buddhism faith, which would be weaken people’smental pressure, fettered their aspirations to dreamly life.The government of Liao dynasty took advantages of "Yi", which is a kind of Buddhistorganization, managing and maintaining Buddhist buildings and buying Buddhist Scripturesto lead people to believe in Buddhism religiously.The temples in Liao dynasty possess a great quantity of buildings and property. Theycould provide disaster relief to people who are hitter by a natural adversity; their behaviorwouldn’t only the reflection of Buddhist main idea, but also solving the realistic problems andpolitical pressure.The Buddhist buildings that mainly distribute in the valley of Big Ling river and seasideregion are important traffic signposts. The sculptures and frescos on stupas are uniquelybeautiful, which is reflecting the technological and artistic high level of handicraft duringLiao dynasty.The Buddhist temples and stupas are important inheritance of history and culture; theyaren’t only the protecting and researching objects, but also the extra opportunities of culturaltourism and regional economic exploitation.
