In Chinese academic history, there is a tradition that lays stress on the commentary and subcommentary. This tradition is similar to the Hermeneutics in western history. So in Chinese academic circle, there are many scholars who advocate to build up the school of Chinese Hermeneutics. In this kind of atmosphere, the topic we're talking about here has the practical significance. The western Hermeneutics provides a platform on which we can look at our traditional poetics from a new perspective. The original meaning of this topic is from "I have transmitted what was taught to me without making up anything of my own." In the previous research,the topic has always been regarded as methodology instead of ontology. We use the Hermeneutics as a platform to discuss the topic and we will find that "I have transmitted what was taught to me without making up anything of my own" might be an inherited life belief which has always been hidden in heart of Chinese intellectuals. We will make the conclusion that the topic is a topic of ontology.
