ZhuangZi is a classic text about Taoist culture in the ancient culture of China. In the history of China there are a variety of annotations on ZhuangZi,but GuoXiang's is the most important one,so it has great value in study.Annotating ancient classic is the main methods of academic research during the devolepment of the ancient Chinese academic.Undoubtedly, posterity's subcommentary is a explanation of predecessors'texts. In China there is a long history of explaining the classics, but lacks of extracting the theory of Hermeneutics.Guo Xiang's annotation on ZhuangZi provides a very good example to research the action of explanation for US.In Chapter One I compare GuoXiang's annotation and ZhuangZi carefully and find that there is a obvious difference in thought..GuoXiang relys on annotating ZhuangZi to build his philosophy,In his philosophy "Xing"ontology is a key to his thought."Xing"ontology changed Chinese culture, object's independent value was found and people's individualism was stressed. The metaphysical Tao which created the world was deconstructed, landscape and nature as individual aesthetic object entered works of art,so GuoXiang's ideology has great significance in Chinese Aesthetic History. In Chapter Two I mostly analyse the significance mentioned above. In Chapter Three I mostly applies the theory of Hermeneutics to analyse GuoXiang's annotation on ZhuangZi.I think there ought to be a limitation on explanation, text must plays a role to limit the interpreter's annotation. In the end of my paper I think Chinese ancient scholars bring their own personal spirit experience into the action of annatating classics, they pay more attention on how the classic service the present reality and their life.
