Based on the academic background of the transformation from "gardening" to "landscape architecture", this article begins with the materialization of the theory, which is the "bottle neck" in the process of landscape designing. The article analyzes the reason why the language of landscape architecture is overrunning endless as virus, which is a problem caused various phenomenon, such as "plenty of theory, while lack of approach" and "different cities with resembling appearance". The author points out that the bottle neck of theory materialization for landscape architecture is primarily caused by two reasons: first reason is the separation of art and technology as well as over-rationalism in the practice of landscape architecture; The second one is the weakening of art in the field of landscape architecture.It is as we know, The design is determined by the approach of practice, and the approach is determined by the methodology. In this article, the author begins with the research on the rationalism approach of landscape projects, which is the most popular approach currently. The author also analyzes the connotation and the defects of this approach. A number of factors are studied in this article, including the attention of art to human, the research language of art, the exploration to artistic space, and the value of art in landscape architecture. Moreover, the author indicates that the modern art is extremely valuable in resolving many problems in landscape architecture, such as the lack of culture caused by over-rationalism and the bottle neck of the materialization of theory.In this article, the author investigates two key approaches of artistic invention: imitation and expression. The theory and the practice of these two approaches are studied, as well as their influence to the practice of landscape architecture. In addition, the author focuses on various relationships in the field of modern landscape architecture, including the relationship between art and technology, rational thinking and sensible thinking, rational design approach and sensible design approach. According to theoretic research and practical experience, the author proposes a designing approach of "artistic idea with landscape architecture process" and explores the value of it.
