Copland's Music Reviews And Features,

Aaron Copland(1900-1990)was one of the leading American composers in 20th century. He enriched the history of modern American classical music with his hundreds of works, critiques, his activities in different musical organizations as well as his life of being a great mentor of music.Chinese scholars also launched out into the study of Copland in the late 20~th century. So far there have been 30 essays and a few books written or published on the subject. However, most of those studies are focused on his work or life experience, none of them are related to his music critiques.By exploring Copland's music critiques, this essay tries to reveal the neglected significant contribution that Copland made in this field, as well as to have a better understanding of his musical thought, and to know more about the pioneer composers, teachers, conductors and commentators of modern American classical music.
