Lu Yao's novel is a special existence in China's literature world nowadays. In his novel, what's the relationship between the author's psychological mechanism and the narration of the love affairs? This thesis tries to research the narration of the love affairs in Lu Yao's novel from the angle, and finds out the internal relationship between the author's subjective psychologies and the narration of the love affairs to elucidate its cultural cause.Firstly, the thesis analyzed the narration of love affairs in Lu Yao's novels, taking his specific work as an example. Maternalizing and moralizing are the most important narrative features of his novel and the narrative mode of love affairs taking "Land (Mother)" as its core specially emphasized both features. In order to give prominence to the moralizing feature, standing at the sight of cross area between urban and rural, Lu Yao endowed the rural with a superiority of moral, and showed his affection to the maternity of the rural and the traditions.This sort of narration feature of love affairs had a direct relationship with the author's unique life experience. His particular life experience formed his special psychological mechanism with Oedipus complex as its core. The psychology of Oedipus complex determined him to have a deep love to the rural and the traditional culture, which became the psychological foundation of his love narration feature in his novel. In his novels, the men feature that was born in the countryside had a natural self-abasement when faced the city women, but on the contrary, when they faced the rural women, they became confident because of the predominance of modern knowledge and the supporting of the rural and the tradition. However, no matter they were self-contempt or self-confident, it all depended on their attitude towards the Land (Mother) of the rural. Lu Yao's narration of love affairs also had a close relationship to his Land consciousness with the base of Hometown and Land Complex, and analyzed the social cultural meaning contained in the cultural phenomena why the contemporary youth adored reading his works and finally explained the social cultural value of his novel in the present days.
