| The thesis deals with the social music examinations, especially the piano practical examinations, held by Shanghai Musician Association. To improve the exams conscientiously and effectively, I form the idea of establishing the All-round Musicianship Examinations (AME) to assist the practical exams so that the situation of more emphasis on technique rather than musical development in the examinations will be gradually ameliorated. I made a survey by doing questionnaire and the statistical results show the possibility and necessity of adding the AME. I aim to explain the definition of the AME, to give the reason why it should be added, and to discuss the classification, the design and the foundation of putting it into practice. These creative propositions will further prove that the AME is not only significant and indispensable for the practical examinations, but also essential and feasible. |
