This dissertation can be divided into two sections, the first section studies the zaqu lyrics, and the second section study the za ballads. Preface briefly reviews the study of zaqu lyrics and za ballads,and the puts forward main ideas and studying methods of this dissertation. Chapter one of the first section examines zaqu lyrics from documentary point of view. According as the theoretic demarcation of the preface of zaqu lyrics and the concrete cover by guo maoqian, this text considers that the music of zaqu lyrics is zayue, which is comparative with yayue, on the other hand, some tune of zaqu lyrics's origin can't be found. Still, all the lyrics of zayue are't be covered by zaqu lyrics. What zaqu lyrics only depends on those lyrics which can't be covered by other regimentations. On the bases of the demarcation of zaqu lyrics, new ranks of part works can be seen in this chapter. At last, this chapter have studied the different firstnames of zaqu lyrics. Chapter two examines zaqu lyrics from music point of view. The study of this chapter is on the bases of individuals. In this chapter, The issue of pomes suit the music in zaqu lyrics of cao zhi and the tune of xinglunan are discussed. At last, this chapter has discussed the other pomes which suit the music. Chapter three examines zaqu lyrics from the point of literature. The study of this chapter is on the bases of individuals too. The tune of qingnuxiuxin and xinlunan are studied from the point of literature in this chapter. The last chapter of section one is the sundry review of zaqu lyrics. Part tunes of zaqu such as alahuan, gaogouli, yutiancaihua, yanghuaqu, qiebaoming, are studied in this chapter. Chapter one of the second section is the pandect of ballads. In this chapter, the reason of za ballads are classified by Guo maoqian in yufushiji and the standard of suit the music are discussed. Chapter two and chapter three of this section are the respective review of ballads. Chapter two examines those ballads which are recorded in fictions and those bring from royal court. Chapter three examines those ballads which are invented by poet in tang dynasty, those pomes which influenced on the ballads are discussed in chapter three too. The last chapter of the second section is surplus review of ballads. Why these are so many ballads in those years while so little ballads are subsistenced by this time is the central issue in this chapter.
