The Chinese traditional paintings in colourful landscape had been on the wane as the scholarstic paintings rose.It is necessary to rethink and study it under the situation of the variety of artistic styles spring up today,therefore it could be clarified that how to inherit the tradition of fine art so that the comtemporary fine art developed,in other words,the tradition would be given more modern flavour.Furthermore,the study on the traiditional painting technics and color materials using in colourful landscape expression would be helpful for today's fine art.It is also studied that the merging of Ren Xiong's scholarstic qualities and is superb painting skills via a comparison analysis between his 《Shi Wan Album》 and the painting works of Wang Ximeng and Qiu Ying.The paper focused on Ren's inheritage of tradition,motif innovation and the forming of his unique artistic style,then his influence to the modern fine art is released.In combining with a series practice,the innovative colourful landscape painting concept is performed as well.
