| Stage spectacle is the basic unit of drama structure .Dramatist often look out on such essential issue inevitably : how to choose the histrionic stage spectacle to compose from throng original material and how to find the quick point between the juncture of joint spectacles , what is the internal affiliation of vicinity scenes,in simpleness,what is to describe and why . The ultimately present of a playwright stays on two spots : event and character. "Event"points to plot , the imitated action ; and "character "refers to the given relationship of character which means the special character and anfractuous psychologic relationship . We depaint events in any drama and delineate character also . How to take order with event and character ,there are two ways : the one is "make character to narrate event", which means making the character as a narrator; the other is "show character through event", which means tracking event to show the person's character,the inner world of the heart and the changing of character's relationship. Aristotle , in discussing the intrinsic quality of drama , reckons that drama is the imitation of a character in action, while the Russian Belinskiy advances further that character is the dramatis persona in drama, it is character that dominate event ,not reverse. The conclusion is vigorous with stringency, thus the basic point of stage spectacle's alternative must depend on "character", the purpose of stage spectacle's alternative is to show the person's character,the inner world of the heart ,the changing of character's relationship and figure the character in limited scenes. Only basing on the key point "character", drama could have strong appeal to the audience. The stage spectacles with rich emotion and psychosis of character, as the stage spectacles with varying psychology of character , is the most histrionic scene. The transition of varying character's relationship plays the key role in the alternative and promote of stage spectacle. |
