The thesis takes its subject of studying of the novels in the new century. Three issues about the new century' s novels will be analyzed : bottom writing, female wirtting, and the transformation of the form of the novels.There are three sections in the thesis. The first part of the paper is to dissertate two aspects of bottom writing: one is to represent the existing puzzledom of the bottom people, in which the traditional theme of the connection between the city and the countryside will be discussed; the other is to impart the thought of common customs to the bottom people's individual life and spirit, to approve their affection. not to pass judgement on them morally. The second part of the paper discuss the new representation of the female writing in the novels of the new century, illuminating that the female writing has not been provided with the trend of thoughts and the vivid gender consciousness, but has influenced many female writer as a sort of inditing psychology. The third part of the paper analyzes the transformation of form of the novels briefly in two ways: the inosculation of realism and modernism, the use for reference to the folk narration.
