The Western Han Dynasty is a unified dynasty with feudalistic Unitarianism. During its reign of more than two hundred years, the emperor made inspections frequently. There are about one hundred records in the history. The tours of inspection in the early and middle of the Western Han Dynasty, in particular, have great effect on the consolidation and development of the unified dynasty with centralism. The key of policy includes advocating Confucianism, propagandizing moralization, appeasing home and stabilizing frontier during its reign. The tours of inspection made by emperors in the Western Han Dynasty have close relationships with these policies. At that time every tour of inspection thought much of by the government and civilians affects every aspect of the society and reflects all kinds of questions existing in the reality. Although the emperor of different dynasty has different purpose of inspection with distinctive characteristic, their tours of inspection epitomizing the social visage have a profound influence on society and politics of the Western Han Dynasty.
