Study On Images Of Mother In Modern Chinese Literature

The images of mother in Modern Chinese literature are studied in this thesis from the point of view of these writings' contents. The changes of the images of mother during 30 years and the varieties of times and ideology contained in above-mentioned changes are investigated, moreover, the explorations with female consciousness which emerged on the images of mother indited by modern female writers are also discussed.The images of mother in Modern Chinese literature works are focus topic, principal object, and main clue of the thesis. Firstly, the topic about mother following the female deity lauds written by first women authors were concentrated by people. After that the images of mother varied obviously or slightly with mainstream topic of different history stage in the literary world, which reflected the abundant connotation in culture and idea. Secondly, the new predicaments, which were conflict between self career and traditional mother duty, faced by modern women who had become mothers are researched. The mothers' real situation analyzed by female writers who matured gradually and had female consciousness is reviewed, furthermore, new considerations and judgments according to the situation are referred. Last, the end of the thesis introduces the new changes and explorations in figuring the images of mother, such as depiction method, symbology, and metaphor.
