Research On The Mother Images Of Chinese Modern Literature

The narrative of mother is the eternal theme of literature.In modern Chinese literary history, a large number of mother images appeared, which enriched the literary narritive. In this paper, the mother images of modern literature are classified four types:fond mother,slave mother,heterromorphy mother and revolutionary mother. May 4th woman authors expressed their love to mother , different from ancient writers. The image of mother was both the embodiment of love, but also the spokesman for the identity of a feudal. Thence, Writer on Writing has dual attitudes: Choice and question.Their choice of the mother can not be separated from the impact of traditional Chinese culture, lack of female subjectivity, and their fight against feudal patriarchy and other reasons. They also question the status of slave of the mother and express their pursuit of an ideal mother. Woman writers, from the daughter's point of view, portray and extol the mother. Slave mother is the salve of multiple meaning of society. They lived in distress under the exploitation of the last class and were also slaves of men. Living in extreme poverty, their rights as a mother had been deprived. Therefore, mental numbness, or twist of the relationship between a mother and her daughter arose. They suffered a lot and represented the hardship. These works have inherited the spirit of people to explore the literature. From the perspective of maternal mother, they express exploitation on the mother in order to reach the purpose of social criticism. Heteromorphy mothers are the widowed mothers, who suffered from psychological mutation after they lost their husbands. On the basis of the psychological analysis and combined with the analysis of the relationship between them and their sons, daughters, and daughters in-law, the writers point out that being crazy, abnormal and away from home publicize the original desire of female. Revolution mothers realized the meaning of women's liberation and social liberation after having tasting the hardship, and bravely stepped into the public sphere of society, therefore, librated themselves in the revolution. However, they just integrated the personal sense into the collective consciousness, but were still under the constraints of conservative ideas.
