Study. Green Art Songs

Qingzhu was a successful composer and musical esthetician in both neoteric and modern history. He was one of the pioneers who were engaged in artistic music composition. Qingzhu's aesthetic ideas were of great importance in both theory and practice. His free theory about music has been disputed and gains a lot of attention and debate for half a century. So the academia attached great importance to his theory. But it is his talent in aesthetics that made his success in artistic music composition less arresting, leaving his artistic composing little attention that is not worthy of his achievements. As far as I am concerned, Qingzhu's artistic songs are mentioned in many of the articles, works, and textbooks only to be quoted as the proof of the aesthetic ideas. Few articles are about the study of the artistic songs themselves, let alone on how to sing them. What's more, regarding Qingzhu'artistic songs, most people are only familiar with his most famous songs"I live at the end of Yangtze River"and "the river rushing to the east", and know little about other masterpieces. In my opinion, in the 1930s when the composers and artistic songs were just at the beginning of its specialization, Qingzhu's artistic songs undoubtedly were of great historical value and realistic meaning. There is no any excuse for us posterity leave so many excellent artistic songs alone. We are supposed to have their elegant demeanour shown off. I try my best to study and analyse Qingzhu's artistic songs. In studying his artistic songs, I try to show his excellent psalmbook which people are not familiar with, musical pieces and his aesthetic ideas, discerning his musical meanings, but also introduce the music of his times and hackle the course of the sprouting and development of the artistic songs, one of the vocality types. I hope the studying will be helpful to our singing, composing as well as teaching. This article is about Qingzhu's artistic songs and his singing manners.
