The method of thing-quantity expression is a kind of quantity expression method in Chinese.Its repertoires consist of noun,numeral and measure words.The most important intention is to express the quantity of things.But it differs great from action-quantity expression because the later intends to express the quantity of the action.In Chinese,thing-quantity expression method has a long-term history.However ,it is a great pity that almost all the professors pay seldom attention to it although they have researched much about measure words.This thesis is based upon virtual materials .trying to a systematical research about WeiJinNanBei Dynasty(魏晋南北朝),in order to make a expansion in the resarch.By statistics,there have been eleven methods in the history.But influenced by some factors such as time,article type,language surroundings and so on .eleven methods are very different from each other in ocurrence frequence .ocurrence surroundings and grammar functions. So it is very meaningful to objectly display their development clue.Meanwhile,it is also a very diffcult work.In this thesis, the author chooses seven typical articles which were written in WeiJinNanBei Dynasty such as Shi ShuoXinYu( 《世说新语》 ) SouShenJi( 《搜神 记》 ),using data analysis and summerizes the rule of thing-quantity expression method in order to make a contribution to the research of all the thing-quantity expression methods.The thesis includes three parts:The first part is the preface .The author mainly defines the range of thing-quantity expression method and gives a simple interpretion about the reason that choose the WeiJinNanBei Dynasty and seven articles.The second part is the body of the thesis.It includes two sections,one of which makes a list about some special forms and excludes them off.The second section discusses the situation of eleven mathods,including quantity ,distribution,grammar meanings,the use of measure words and so on.The author also summarized several features about the thing-quantity expression method in WeiJinNanBei Dynasty.The last part is the end .The author mainly analysizes the reason of the features which were concluded in the second part and points that the conclusion will be more reasonable and nearer to the language fact when they came from virtual materails.Acorrding to data statistics through large number of materails,in this thesis the author draws a lot of inspiring conclusions and compares with some relative researches .Thus the thesis modifies and complements some ideas about thing-quantity expression method .So it has some acadamic values.
