Women always took an embarrassed role in ancient Chinese literature because of their ornamental and consumable fate, though most of them came from the upper class. However , the lower layers , suffered from poverty and struggled for a harder life, were seldom favored by men of letters. It was on the age of May 4 , 1919-Movement that they took one of the leading roles together with New women, which indicated an epoch-making significance. Despite this, they still submerged in their tragical fate, which makes many pioneers start to explore the deep-seated reason for the cause of formation and leading some of the pioneer writers to a writing dilemma . This article tries to focus on these issues.Chapter â…  tried to explore the fate of the women pioneers, who first awakened by the surging of the New Cultural Movement. They were completely new because they had broken away from oppression of the Feudal Rite and stared to arrange their new life all by themselves . They aimed their future at departing their old families and then led a new life. which had apparently borrowed the ideas from so-called Ibsenism. However , it's quite easy to depart from the old families but took great pains to make a good living.Chapter â…¡ paid an special attention to those lower layers. Many writers adopted a grand way to narrate their stories. Mainly because of being deeply affected by the new age , the pioneer writers described those women as an advocatus who suffered too much from the oppression of the Feudal Rite. However, they were described so obedient and endurable, as if they were reticent animals, that without a different given name they nearly share the same facial appearance.Chapter â…¢ planned to make a thorough investigation on the Grey Woman, which replaced the so-called women of the streets.. They all led a hard life, however, because of their unusual behaviors they were neglected for long and even driven out of people's inquisitive field of view .Of course, because of the historical and realistic factors, its very hard for them to speak out in their own voice. So is the researching work. We can't make an on-the-spot investigation since the time has passed and the situation has changed. But maybe we can restore the original state by surmising some of the fragments of their real life and catch on to the dilemma of modern Chinese writers.
