Five Dynasties And The Tang Dynasty Literature Research

In Five Dynasties, the research on the literature of Tang Dynasty had been continued developed. As the first dynasty after Tang Dynasty , people who lived in this period could study and summarize on the literature of Tang Dynasty form the whole view. Therefore, It represented the preliminary developing condition of the research on the literature of Tang Dynasty. It not only based on the research on the literature of Tang Dynasty which accomplished by the people who lived in Tang Dynasty. But also had a great influence on the research on the literature of Tang Dynasty which was made by people who lived in Song Dynasty.The study did not have a uniform style. It was scattered in several kinds of books. In this thesis, I derive materials from all sorts of original documents, such as :JiuTangShu, QuanTangShi, QuanTangWen, TangWenShiTi, TangWenXuShi and various note novels ,collecting poems, prose and notes written by people who lived in Five Dynasties .In all, the collected material was about 700 items, and it add up to over 150,000 words.Among theses comments ,some referred to the literature of a period or even the whole period of Tang Dynasty, it pay attention to study and summarize the historic developing of the literature of Tang Dynasty .By doing this way ,it not only reserved various and valuable information about the literature of Tang Dynasty, but also offered an important clue for their descendants. Others concerned with a certain author and his work, The comment ranged from the author's experience and his attitude toward the literature to the specific details about the work such as the construction, the language, the rhythm and so on.In the process of their criticism, they used different kinds of critical methods.
