the text mainly studies the mainstream literary conception and novels in the 1980s, aiming at contributing something to the future development of Chinese literature.Scar Novel, Reflection Novel, Reform Novel, Root Seeking Novel, Pioneer Novel and New realism Novel have combined to impress on people the general evolution mode of the novels in the 1980s. Compared with the literature blankness during the Culture Revolution, these literary trends showed a new understanding and interpretation of literature. Meanwhile, due to their abundance a in aesthetic thoughts and formats, they became the mainstream of the literature during this period. However, congenital faultiness existed in these mainstream literary conceptions and novels. They showed no interest in the ultimate problems concerning human beings, and what interested them was how to surpass the old literary conception and creations, thus they were crippled by something conservative from the very beginning. Their status of the mainstream intensified such a weakness. The critical world and the theoretical world made them the mainstreams, and they were historically reasonable in doing so. Yet, they brought about bad side effects by establishing new rules for future writings. And henceforth conceptual and formulized writings emerged in large number. What's more, in inquiring and rebuking other literary conceptions and novels, they tended to be the hegemony in the literary worldThe meaning of the reflection lies in the sound awareness of the limitedness of the literary conceptions. With an alert on its fault, it is no longer viewed as the mainstream, thus making diversified writing patterns possible and the problems of conceptual and stereotype writing can also be avoided.
