Wei Yingwu Poetry Art Research

The dissertation evolves mainly around the central theme of artistic style of Wei yingwu's poems. First of all, the dissertation presents a general understanding of artistic style of Wei yingwu's poems, which is summarized as diluted and gentle one. However, his subjective style of dilutedness and gentleness is also accompanied by solitude. Then the special phenomenon of dilutedness and solitude is explored. Sequentially, arguments are given respectively from such four aspects as lyrical art, image and mood, language art and structural art by adopting the means of combinations of theoretical analysis and poetry appreciation as well as macrocosm and microcosm. The chapter on lyrical art mainly analyses lyrical tone of pathos and sentimentality and lyrical modes of gentleness and soulfulness. Image and mood, interrelated closely, are two important categories in study of Tang poetry. Therefore, the third chapter discusses in depth the remarkable achievements and unique artistic feature that he acquired in the aspects of application of image and construction of mood. Language is an important component of study on poetry. Thus, the fourth chapter mainly studies language peculiarity of his poems, and the study on language is specified into the analysis of some special words of poetic language. The last chapter analyses the structure of Wei yingwu's poems from integral structure of poetry and makes study according to different types of poetry. The dissertation as a whole compares and analyses the unique artistic charms of Wei yingwu's poems from two perspectives of synchronism and diachronism.
