The Northern and Southern Dynasties(A.D420-A.D589)were the histrorical periods from separation to integration of the Middle-Aged history of China, which were the periods of acdemical homony as well.Yi-Learning of the Northern and Southern Dynasties was characterized by region separation and political loyality. Wang Bi's(王弼 A.D226-A.D249)Yi-Learning was popular in the Southern Dynasties, while as did ZhengXuan's(郑玄 A.D127-A.D200)Yi-Learning in the northern dynasties, in the whole periods, the Image-Number Yi-Learning(typical of Zheng Xuan's Yi-Learning)and the Philosophyical Connotations Yi-Learning (typical of Wang Bi's Yi-Learning )gave consideration to each other not only in the Imperial College but also in the Confucianists'Yi-Learning masterpieces, this tendency lied a foundation of the unity of Tang Dynasty's Yi-Learning, and it had essential significance to pay highier light on the fact of Wang Bi's ontology theory changing into Confucianism's ideology.Yi-Learning in the Southern Dynasties had more inheritance than creativity, on the other hand, it had new fingdings of Yi-Learning research, such as the ways of divining by means of the Eight Diagrams(八卦) in the ancient times,the meaning of Yi(易),the correct of the writer of Wen Yan(文言)and etc .Yi-Learning has great influnce to the thoughts and histroy of the Northern and Southern Dynasties, in the first place, Yi-Learning was bonded with the research and practice of the Propriety-Learning (礼学) ,they interpretated each other. During the process, the former made the latter adjust itself according to the changing social conditions, and made the Feudal goverment reform little by little, at the same time, Yi-Learning kept the Propriety-Learning functionning, which strenthened the Hu-peoples(f^lj^), who occupied the Northern areas of ancient china, to be Hannized ($lifc)oT Feudalized, on the other hand, Image-Number Yi-Learning hindered the devolepment of the Propriety-Learning theory.Religion was the fundemental part of the Northern and Southren Dynasties' culture, Image-Number Yi-Learning had contribution to the spreading of Buddhism and Taoism religion as well as to the creation of their theories. The ontology of Wang Bi's Yi-learning inspired Indian Buddhism to be sinosized, and shaped the distinguishing features of Chinese Buddhism and Taoism religion, at the same time, Religions made Yi-Learning more Superstitious. During the procces, Yi-Learning and external culture (such as Indian Buddhism)had both at the same time, This made ancient Chinese understood Yi-Leaning more deeply, and made the differences between Chinese Culture and foreign Cultures clearer and clearer.Culture homony was boomming in the Northern and Southern Dynasties. Account of the special forms and profound thoughts, Yi-learning was a reservoir of the various schools of thoughts, The spirit of "reaching the same goal by different routes" in Yi-Learning gave impetus to the histrorical integrating of the Northern and Southern Dynasties.
