There is much close connection between Chinese ancient literature and music. The connection between guqin music and Chinese ancient culture is closer than that with other form of music, lyrics of guqin songs are the direct outcome of the combination of guqin music and literature. As an important component of our country's Yuefu poems, guqin songs during the period from Ancient times through the Tang dynasty , records joys and sorrows of the ancient people, containing deep and wide social and historical content and the essence of traditional musical culture.This thesis , taking the lyrics of guqin songs of the Collection of Yuefu Poems as its main target of studies, analyses lyrics of guqin songs and some related literary phenomena. Based on the relevant expositions and research finding of lyrics of guqin songs by ancient and modern scholars, through the analysis of some important phenomena and features of guqin misic and lyrics of guqin songs in the course of their emergence and development, in the light of the materials about guqin music and lyrics of guqin songs in historical data and literary works, chapter One and chapter Two demonstrate and pass judgment on the important issue of the truth value of lyrics of guqin music. Chapter Three gives analysis and inspection of the now available lyrics ofguqin songs the Collection of Yuefu poems and relevant issues, in terms of its collections and editing, time of emergence, authors, characteristics of works in content and form, historical development, striving to grasp the features of lyrics of guqin music comprehensively and objectively on a new level and clarify the veins of its historical development. From the point of guqin music, chapter Four devotes itself to the exploration of lyrics of guqin songs profoundly, mainly on the aspects of the features presented by its content and form and its relationship with guqin songs .Meanwhile, its generality as Yuefu poem and specialty as lyrics of guqin songs are also involved. Chapter Five is mainly on comparative study of musical instrument song lyrics in other ancient books and that in the Collection of Yuefu poems, trying to analyze and demonstrate the differences and connections between Guo's Yuefu and the materials quoted. This chapter also is a supplement the relevant problems mentioned in the previous chapters .
