District Wu is a culture area located in catchments of the ChangJiang River China. The name Wu is originated from the Country Wu and County Wu in the history sthat had been established in this area. District Wu is the core area of the South-ChangJiang River. Wu-dancing has the abundant history resource and the bright regional culture characteristics. With the history research method, this thesis coordinates the dancing actions happened in the district Wu, describes the process include origin, development and the change of the Wu-dancing culture, and summarize the uniquely, regionally and internal cause of formation.This thesis includes an introduction, three chapters and a conclusion. The introduction mainly explains the aim, the methods, the research range and the relating works regarding this thesis. The Chapter One describes the formation process of the Wu-dancing, include the origin in primordial world and the multi-culture combination from the Spring-Autumn period to the Han Empire. The Chapter Two describes the evolution process of the Wu-dancing, include the development from the Six period to the Shui, Tang Empire and how to form the unique art style and combine into the Chinese traditional dancing. The Chapter Three describes the essential change in the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Empire. The Conclusion summarize the separation and combination track between Wu-dancing and the Chinese dancing history, and the invention of the Wu-dancing of the time.
