The excavation of Jiahu Bone Flute has the unprecedented academic value in the archaeology and the musicology research. Its unearth revealed the Chinese music civilization origins time must be ahead of 7000B.C to 5000B.C in later Neolithic period , not the time in fable Yellow Emperor time of 3000B.C as the academic circles generally considered. The research had not actually reached a very deep level during the past 20 more years since the bone fluted had been discovered first time. The main reason lies in: after thousands years' burying, the bone flute already had been heavily damaged. Considered the importance of cultural relic value, the national administration of cultural heritage and museum department already implemented the properly protection to the bone flute. Without any doubt, it is extremely essential to protect the bone flute, while the flute researchers also lost the opportunities of doing any advanced research. For a long time the research is under a very slow progress due to the lack of relative material of bone flute. The research of sound reconstructing of Jiahu Bone Flute is not only providing an substitute which uses for researchers through the flute clearly reconstructing, to resolve the research material deficient problem, moreover the studies of playing method, manufacturing process and acoustic attribute, will raise the research to a brand new step.Here are the main aspects regarding the research of sound reconstructing of Jiahu bone flute that the author has been done:To provide a comprehensive and detailed picture of Jiahu bone flute by classifying and summarizing the existing literature materials, this research is not only have author to clearly understand the predecessor's work, moreover is to make other people would rapidly grasp the present situation of the bone flute studies and to search the correlation data more efficiently.Because of using the real crane bone to perform the bone flute's reconstructing, understanding crane skeleton exterior structure, material attribute and relative knowledge became extremely important. By studying the real crane skeleton, through searching related materials and comparing pictures, the author discovered it is not only restricted in the red-crowned crane ulna, other cranes, the larger size such as red neck crane and the smallersize such as white-nape crane and white crane's ulna. The possibility that the crane shinbone making flute may not excluded, but needs further investigation.As the crane bone tube shape's natural irregularity, the material's heterogeneous, it is necessary to obtain the influence as bone tube length, diameter, material and the bone flute sound attribute through lab testing. After many comparing experiments of the indicators as tube length, tube diameter, tube material, the author discovered the edgetone wind instrument would be mainly affected by human factor, such as the sound ranging playing instability. To ensure the reconstruction's precision, the author has not used the ancient processing method, but uses modern drilling machinery and cutting tools. The copy of bone flute matches the original flute's physical size and external attributes. It is necessary to pass the tone test for bone flute's acoustic reconstruction. As one of the edgetone wind instruments, the bone flute has some unique points at tone testing. The author has drawn up a set of standard tone testing according to the theory of edge tone wind instruments' vibration, utilized accurate computer numerical code sound tone testing software as the main method recorded, tested the reconstructed bone flute, received including wave profile, frequency spectrum, and more comprehensive acoustic result.There are certain discrepancy between the tone results of the reconstructed bone flute and the pass tone results of the bone flute. The author analyzed the discrepancies are result of many factor and found the research value of reconstructed bone flute's cannot be denied. Just the opposite, since the reconstructed bone flute utilized scientific and standardized tone testing process and it has higher precision, so the author consider that reconstructed bone flutes definitely may substitute the original part to conduct further bone flute research.Regarding the bone flute research in focal points: like the temperament of bone flute, the flute M282:20 small seven orifices, the performance method and so on.
