Western Clothing Painting Study

Fashion drawing plays a very important role in the field of fashion design. It' is the initial step of fashion design process. The garment industry can not be developed without the innovation of the fashion design. There is a lack of fashion drawing theory at present. To fill the gap, enrich and develop our fashion design theory, a relative complete basic fashion design theory is established in this paper by studying the Weston fashion drawing, relative arts and fashion magazines.According its developing history, Weston fashion drawing was studied by the methods below: 1) learning each distinctive states by studying the history of Weston garments;2) showing the influence of different arts on fashion drawing by studying those arts themselves;3) collecting and translating the papers of fashion drawing;4) exploring the Weston costume culture by field survey;5) explaining the styles of fashion drawing by showing the works of famous fashion drawing artists.In this paper, not only the basic theory of fashion drawing was described in details, but also the ideas of the developing of fashion design was proposed. A basic frame of fashion drawing theory was established in this paper as well. The history of fashion drawing is one of the most important chapters of this paper, which is done by collecting and translating the original English papers. All the history mentioned in this paper were proved by studying from various sources. This paper includes the basic theories of fashion design, the fashion drawing history, the expression of modern fashion drawing and the development of fashion drawing.In summary, this paper fills the gap in the field of our fashion design. It's the first complete work about fashion design theory. It has a great influence on the costume culture in our country.
