Han dynasty is a brilliant period in the history of Chinese civilization, the culture of which has continuous influence on the offspring up to the present. As a significant part of Han civilization, Han sculpture connects between the preceding and the following, and blends between the south and the north, affecting the afterward development of sculpture art to a certain degree. This article is titled with Research on Plastic Language of Sculpture of Han Dynasty, representing particular contemporary reflect on Han civilization on the one hand, and on the other hand, showing a calm and objective judgment on Han sculpture from the perspective of a sculptor. The objective is to explain, from just this perspective, the general characteristics and rules of plastic language of Han sculpture, plastic language of sculpture as entry-point, and to discuss the spiritual character of plastic language of sculpture during this period.The article analyzes and researches into model works, comparing and relating from individual to general and from practice to theory, to study the plastic language of Han sculpture art. Started with the enjoyment, directness and aboriginality of the plastic language art of Han sculpture on a macro view, the article goes on to discuss, on a micro view, the cognition, comprehension and representation of the plastic language of Han sculpture on form, structure and space. Grounded on these, it deals further with the spiritual character of the plastic language of Han sculpture, pointing out its strength and confidence, freedom and openness. At last, the pen is put upon the general characteristics and rules of the plastic language of Han sculpture.To sum up, the direct and aboriginal cognition of Han sculptors on things, together with the emphasis on implication and expression of feeling on things, decide the enjoyable, direct and aboriginal characteristics of the plastic language of Han sculpture, with which, the time characteristics shape the spiritual character of strength, confidence, freedom and openness.
