The Negative Effects Of Science And Technology And Ethical Reflection

This article sets out from the varieties of negative effects which science and technology activities have given the survival and development of human being. It summarized and analyzed the performances and features that those negative effect have made in three areas that is nature, society and human being themselves, and regarded science and technology activities as a dynamic process, then explored and analyzed the cause of the negative effects. For a long time, the main innovation and technology design have made science and technology to be an uncertain activity, accompanied with a high risk of consequences. Because it only concerned with the partial, immediate, direct, temporary economic, political, military and other interests, or only to the positive effect of science and technology activities, or simply regarded it as a tool, but marely took human being' long-term ethical responsibility into account. So, it results in a variety of negative effects. And these negative effects have affected or are affecting the survival and development of the humanbeing. What this article concerns is from the ultimate care given people, how to consider the lost in ethical responsibility among the development of modern science and technology and how to make forward-looking projections about varieties of new technology innovation and the effect of its application and make ethical control of the whole process and all members of the science and technology activity, so that it would really benefit human being. The article posed that it must enhance social ethic responsibility to overcome the negative effect of science and technology and the professor of science and technology should bear corresponding social ethic responsibility, and science and technology activities is a uniform of full-member ethic responsibility. On this basis, it has put forward the ethical principles that the science and technology activities should obey the principle of the responsibility of a forward-looking, harmonious coordination principles, the principle of sustainable development. In order to make the ethical principles in science and technologyactivities having the constraint and rule effect to science and technology in the practical dimension, the article have put forward corresponding measures, such as making ethical regulation, establishing science and technology activities ethics oversight review bodies, strengthening policies and regulation of technology ethics. In short, in order to minimize or avoid the negative eifects that science and technology activities have given society and the ecological environment. It is essential to strengthen the social ethical responsibility to enable the development of science and technology truly benefits all human being.
