Using the newspapers, books and other literature styles in the late Qing Dynasty as the reading materials, this thesis is written to extract the resource related to feminism depiction, to analyze the development of feminine liberation and to ponder the description of female in Chinese current period of society transverse. Because of the comprehensive influence of factors such as politics, economics and culture in late Qing Dynasty, Chinese history entered a new period of ideology enlightenment, which result in the new insight of torchbearers and the female themselves in feminism and the feminine consciousness come to the fore. The coming of the feminine consciousness to the fore and springing up of feminism affects the language and traits of feminism depiction in the late Qing Dynasty, and therefore the concept of feminism came from social language to literature at that time. We developed the discussion about female problems in literature according to the four focuses of the temporal feminine liberation that are the abandon of binding feet, the encouragement of female schools, rescuing the country and slipping the leash. The female liberation at this period came into being due to the political background of country sufFering stresses from both interior and exterior in late Qing Dynasty, which determined that the core of it was to rescue the country. Therefore, the feminism depiction and the build of image in late Qing Dynasty are almost incapable of departing from or sliding over the control of the key description. This is why the female consciousness was still so weak and passive in the culture whose center was Phallus. Consequently, we can grope for the characteristic, the nature and the historical significance of female liberation in this period by analyzing the historical status of the female liberation and furthermore comparing it with that described in "The May Forth" literature.
